19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former number one, has endured a difficult year, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
It is his maiden trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.
The win also means he has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a championship is really nice," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, including in Halle previously this season.
His counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced service.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a third set.
He rescued four early chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent unable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
