Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor has been charged with committing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Charges
The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
