Ariana Grande attended an event in Singapore for the regional premiere of Wicked: For Good

Loyal fans of the actress are calling for that a man who breached a barricade and seized the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be detained or removed from Singapore.

A widely shared video reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside photographers and lunging at Grande while the actors made its way down a yellow carpet surrounded by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being taken in", though official papers indicated that he was set to be present on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was charged.

Pattern of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile contains clips of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney show in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers event in the area last winter.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is obviously a legal violation," stated an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user questioned.

Followers Express Concern Over Grande's Safety

Numerous followers accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed dealing with PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her May 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented another message on Instagram.

Some attendees also faulted guards at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while some demanded online networks to remove Mr Wen's uploads.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In footage spreading on the internet, Grande appeared startled when she was touched by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Numerous of attendees had gathered in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore mall, including a number who had queued for as long as eight hours before it began.

The motion picture, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-part version of the popular theatrical musical Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected relationship between two very different witches.

The show itself is a adaptation of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of the previous year in the UK, and received 10 Academy Award nods, winning several for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
