Hulu to Bring a Popular Game TV Series from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest Far Cry title that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for embracing violence and mayhem with equal enthusiasm, all while weaving captivating, politically driven stories. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two creators whose projects have represented all of those qualities.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game series, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' structure by featuring a different backdrop and group of personalities in each season.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, gripping, and extremely entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also appear in the show, but as of now, we do not know what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their steady trust and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone series. Every title is a interpretation of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can evolve from year to year, while always exploring the essence of humanity through this complex and chaotic viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m excited to partner with Rob and introduce our common bold, daring approach to the screen.”

A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
