Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators soon after securing a victory,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and now, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the group would reform the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted at school, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 led to significant interruptions in schools and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
