Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Television Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.
Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
