Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's latest album, the new release, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.
The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.
A family member told me to get Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.
They have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.
However I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at home this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
