Both are being considered with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's resignation on Monday.

McKenna's Stance on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss described the Glasgow giants as "an enormous soccer institution" but stressed he is "in the middle" of a "extensive rebuilding" with the Championship side.

The 39-year-old assumed control of Portman Road in recent years and guided the team to the English top flight with back-to-back promotions, but they won just four games last campaign as they were demoted back to the Championship and they currently sit twelfth place in the Championship.

"There have been such discussions," the London-born ex- Irish young player said when asked about being on the candidate list.

"It's not something I have considered seriously, or where any part of my concentration is this week.

"I possess a special job here at a remarkable club. And we're at a really important phase of the season. Everything external hasn't reached my radar."

Context and Agreement Aspects

Reports indicate that the manager would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"Growing up, we all have our affinities," he said when questioned about these. "It's unlikely everyone has to go around and announce what they used to be, but naturally it's a really big sports organization."

McKenna signed a fresh multi-year deal in last year and was questioned about his reported £5m release clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are things," he replied. "I'm unaware what mine are and, were I informed, I wouldn't disclose you anyway!

"I approach this role like I'll be Town's coach indefinitely. I know that's not always going to be the situation, but I will consistently give maximum effort as long as I remain in position."

The Welsh Coach's Situation

Bellamy played for Celtic on temporary transfer from the Magpies in 2005, but the former Wales forward is minded to complete the ongoing World Cup qualification, a stance that would practically eliminate the mid-forties from assuming the Glasgow position.

The Welsh squad are currently third in their qualifying group behind group toppers Belgium and second-placed North Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and their rivals in November would book their position in the final qualifying round, but they are virtually guaranteed of making those, due to a successful Nations League campaign, should they fail to finish as their group runners-up.

Given his current position, the Wales manager, whose agreement concludes after the European Championship, would not be available until after the play-offs at the minimum.
